THE 4TH EDITION OF THE MARINA MILITARE NASTRO ROSA VELOCE CONCLUDED IN GENOA

At the Galata Museo del Mare, the Deas team won the longest regatta in the Mediterranean

Genoa, November 13 – The 4th edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce, organized by Difesa Servizi SpA in collaboration with the Marina Militare and SSi Sports & Events, with the support of the Italian Sailing Federation and the patronage of CONI, created to promote the Marina Militare brand and the beauties of the country, ended in Genoa.
Having started from Venice on November 3, after covering 1,492 nautical miles in just over nine days, the longest regatta in the Mediterranean has arrived in Genoa, with 10 teams of internationally renowned sailors competing. The victory was won by the Deas team, followed by the RORC 1 team, while the Waving Meadows team came in third. A fascinating itinerary for an exciting regatta, fought until the last gate. A regatta characterized by light winds during which the crews challenged each other by putting all their qualities as established athletes into play, arriving compact to signify the tough battle that has animated the waters of the Mediterranean since last November 3, circumnavigating our country and crossing the wonderful lighthouses that guide the teams during the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour.
Numerous military and civil authorities attended the awards ceremony at the Galata Museo del Mare in Genoa.
The President of the Region Marco Bucci and the Councilor for Sports and Tourism of the Municipality of Genoa, Alessandra Bianchi, congratulated the organizers and the competing teams.
“A sailing event of absolute national and international importance, strongly linked to the city of Genoa since the first edition and which will return to the city for the 2025 edition on which Difesa Servizi SpA is already working. The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour is a container that in addition to sport promotes the beauty of our territory from the point of view of the sea and its sustainability” underlined the CEO of Difesa Servizi SpA, Dr. Luca Andreoli.
The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral Giuseppe Berutti Bergotto, during his speech reiterated how fundamental the respect and protection of our sea is, also with particular reference to the underwater. "The values ??of spirit of sacrifice and loyalty that have distinguished this regatta represent the values ??that the Navy transmits to those who approach it in all training institutes and for this I thank the crews for having faced such a demanding and competitive race in compliance with these values" concluded Admiral Berutti Bergotto.
The President of SSi, Dr. Riccardo Simoneschi, thanking the civil and military authorities present, expressed his satisfaction for what was "an exciting regatta, particularly tough but faced by crews of absolute importance and this is demonstrated by the compact arrival of the boats. This means that over the years this event has grown and will be able to increase its prestige even further thanks to the ability to create a system between institutional, public and private bodies".
In addition to being positioned, in terms of interest, among the top three sailing competitions known in Italy, the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour was created to be a platform within which to carry out collateral activities for the economic, cultural and social development of the country.
The event has in fact become, over time, a sailing event of international importance and a true cultural and educational space aimed at knowledge of the culture of the sea, of the beauties of our territory where values, traditions and sustainability trace the route towards the future of the sea and of the entire country.
