Genoa, April 8, 2022 - The great sailing events by the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour are ready to start again.
Tuesday it will be underway the Female Offshore Mediterranean Championship a regatta that, starting from Genoa, will transfer the fleet of Beneteau Figaro 3 to La Maddalena, not before having rounded a buoy placed in the French waters.
An absolute novelty, given that never before has an offshore regatta been reserved for an exclusively female parterre and for the Beneteau Figaro 3. Several teams at the start, with the duo composed of the Double Mixed Offshore World Champion, Claudia Rossi, and Cecilia Zorzi, European champion of the same specialty, considered favorites of an eve that is flowing between setting up the boats and studying the weather charts at order to set a rough routing.
"We return to racing, to water, the main element for those like us who have sailing and the sea in their blood and to do so there could not have been a better opportunity to engage the girls in a selective offshore event such as the Female Offshore Mediterranean Championship - explains Riccardo Simoneschi, leader of Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour - With this first event we want to focus attention on the female component of our sport and offer an opportunity for girls to prepare for the mixed crew championships scheduled for the summer. Although relatively short, the race will engage the crews on a path that hides many pitfalls: both the navigation along the Ligurian coast, as the approach to La Maddalena are not at all obvious."
An appointment, the Female Offshore Mediterranean Championship which will serve to introduce one of the main events that, in May, will find space under the banner of the Nastro Rosa Tour: the Double Mixed Offshore European Championship, scheduled from 10 May.
