Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Tour, in Otranto the leader is Team Mexedia

Otranto - After four days of navigation, the second edition of the Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce has now come to life and is characterized by the top battle involving Team Mexedia (Zorzi-Bauzà), in command since the start and always in phase with the oscillations of the fresh wind from the north-west that quickly pushed the boats southwards, Sanfer (Waksman-Ferellech), across Otranto, delayed by about 14 miles with respect to the tread, and TOR Genova (D'Alì-Sericano), called to recover over 20.

Limited gaps which, especially over the next few hours, could be varied: along the route that leads across the Gulf of Otranto, leaders should find a sharp drop in the breeze, which is then destined to enter from the southern quadrants.

Said of the treads, it should be emphasized how the rest of the fleet unravels along the Apulian coasts, with Algeco (Berger-Laline) and Marina Sant'Elena (Adamson-Calanach), located across Bari, to act as a link between the regatta head and tail. It is interesting to underline that in the course of the last 24 hours the Berger-Laline duo was able, playing on the wind shifts, to recover more than 13 miles from their direct opponent.

I am currently between Bari and Vieste World Cargo (Renella-Nicchitta), Team IREN (Cantero-Fournier) and Marina Militare (Ceraldi-De Carolis) which, after lingering in a wind hole north of the Gargano, has to catch up on the rest of the fleet.

Italy Country Value Project
To support the Valore Paese Italia project and the enhancement of lighthouses and coastal buildings, each of the participating boats has the name of a lighthouse. The routes and routes of the crews emphasize the network of lighthouses, obviously within the limits of the distances. After having "greeted" the lighthouses of the Venetian Spignon, Ottagono di Cà Roman and Isola di San Secondo lighthouses, and then the Po di Goro lighthouse (Ferrara) and the Colle dei Cappuccini lighthouse (Ancona), while navigating towards the gate of Vieste, the crews skirted the Tremiti, where the San Domino lighthouse is located on the Punta del Diavolo on the island of San Domino. To signal the extreme eastern tip of the Gargano, however, was the suggestive Lighthouse of Torre Preposte, perched on a rocky spur on the Testa del Gargano promontory. The lighthouse is one of the most important signals of the Adriatic Sea.

The regatta and the course
The Marina Militare Nastro Rosa Veloce is organized by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. and SSI Events with the support of the Italian Navy. The 1492-mile non-stop route unfolds between Venice and Genoa and plans to leave Sicily on the right. Double crews are engaged on board the Beneteau Figaro 3s and the mileage record, which if beaten gives the right to an important prize money, was set last year by Sophie Faguet and Pierre Lebuchers on Team Urban Value and is equal to 8d 8h 23m 27s.
